In the past "American Idol" has given us William Hung's "She Bang" and Renaldo Lapuz with "You Are My Brother".
This season, the breakout hit of the AI Season 9 auditions to date? General Larry Platt with an original composition he calls "Pants on the Ground."

I heard you and Ruth talk about this on the show, and I figured there had to be a reason you were laughing, so I watched. Still waiting.
Spoken like a true "No way am I gonna ever like American Idol it's a piece of crap" television viewer. It is a piece of crap. It's WHY it's funny to me. And right now, the audition episodes? Call me sick but I love watching the self-deluded train wrecks. Not cruel. They're not forced to be there. They're forced only to face reality. And in the end, "Pants on the Ground" will likely become some kind of "hit" in America and that speaks volumes and puts me in mind of something usually attributed to one P.T. Barnum.
I understand. I wish I was able to get it and enjoy it, but I can't.
